Barbadians to Pay Less On Their Electric Bill this Month

Barbadians to Pay Less On Their Electric Bill this Month

Barbadians using around 250 kilowatts of electricity will see a decrease in their electric bill this month.

This was announced today by the Managing Director of Light and Power, Roger Blackman.

Mr. Blackman said the reduction came as a result of the commissioning of Light and Power’s new clean energy bridge in St. Lucy.

He also said the impact of the drop in international oil prices from 119 to 90 US dollars per barrel caused a drop in the fuel clause adjustment charged to its customers.

The Managing Director also announced that beginning this month Barbadians will see a reduction in the Value Added Tax as proposed by Government.
