University Law Lecturer, Dr. Ronnie Yearwood is the New President of the Democratic Labour Party.

The UWI, Cave Hill Campus lecturer defeated former MP and cabinet Minister, Dr. David Estwick in a vote today at a DLP extraordinary meeting at the party headquarters at George Street.

He succeeds lawyer Verla Depeiza who resigned following a second successive 30 to nothing defeat by the Barbados Labour Party in general elections.

Former DLP MP and cabinet minister Steve Blackett had assumed the role of interim President pending elections.
