Calls for Crop Over resumption amidst low bookings for summer

As tourism players indicate concern over the coming summer period with Crop Over still uncertain, the local entertainment sector is hoping that such events resume.

The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association has stated that while bookings for the winter were strong, advanced bookings for the summer, which would normally get a boost from Crop Over, are weak and that’s a major worry.

President of the Entertainment Association of Barbados Rudy Maloney, believes it’s important that Crop Over resumes.

He says events currently taking place are a good indicator of what’s possible.

Mr. Maloney stresses that events generate significant economic activity.
