Attempted armed robbery at mini-mart

Management and staff of a St. Phillip variety store are traumatized but uninjured after armed, masked men stormed the business last night, attempting to rob both the business and customers.

The incident was captured on the business’s security cameras and the video went viral on social media.

Owner and operations manager of Belair Minimart, Emmerson Alleyne, tells Starcom Network News that the burglars entered the establishment just after 7pm.

He says the staff was rattled but unharmed and security will be strengthened.

Mr. Alleyne is concerned about crime in the country.

Charles Callendar is one of the customers who were in the store when the gunmen entered.

Police crime prevention officer Inspector Stephen Griffith urges individuals and businesses to be on guard.
