Cricket broadcast crew member found dead in Bdos hotel pool

An Indian national, part of the international broadcast crew in Barbados to cover the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, has been found dead in a swimming pool at the west coast hotel where he was staying.

Starcom Network News understands that the man worked for Disney Star, a media company based in Florida that is broadcasting the international T20 tournament that is now into its Super Eight stage with the finals to be hosted in Barbados.

A statement from the police service says that at about 6:48 p.m. yesterday, officers were summoned to the Palm Resort at Sunset Crest, St. James where an employee discovered the body of a man motionless at the bottom of the swimming pool located on-site.

The broadcast crew member was a guest staying at the hotel. He was dressed in a black short pants and was bareback.

Officers from the police marine unit recovered the body from the swimming pool and the man was pronounced dead by a medical doctor who visited the scene.

Meantime funeral director for Barbados Muslim Funeral Trust, Ibrahim Bhana, expressed his sadness over the event noting that the deceased was recently married and says they are now trying to organize funeral arrangements.
