Barbados is set to get a new Chief Justice later this year.
The current Chief Justice Sir Patterson Cheltenham will be retiring in less than six months.
Sir Patterson made this announcement today during the swearing-in ceremony of Madame Justice Barbara Cooke-Alleyne as a High Court judge.
The Chief Justice who has been practicing law for 46 years has held his current position since 2020.
He indicates there will be other High Court vacancies.
