PM Mottley in the Time 100 List of Climate Champions

Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has been named in the inaugural list of TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential leaders driving climate action.

The prominent magazine highlighted Ms. Mottley as one of world’s most vocal advocates on behalf of vulnerable countries facing permanent loss or damage from climate change.

It hailed her role in the launch of the Bridgetown Initiative, her ambitious plan to phase out fossil fuels by 2023 and her role in convening the Summit for a new Global Financing Pact in Paris which seeks to force reform of multilateral development banks and reduce lending costs for Small Island Developing States.

Last year Ms. Mottley was listed among the magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world.
