An earthquake has been recorded off Barbados at the same time as Barbadians and others in the Eastern Caribbean were bracing for the effects of Hurricane Tammy.
According to the Caribbean Seismic Research Centre in Trinidad, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurred last night at 9:07 centered 51 kilometers south west of Bridgetown, Barbados at a depth of ten kilometers.
This also places it 145 kilometers east south east of Kingstown, St. Vincent and 175 kilometers south east of Castries, St. Lucia.
