BWU Accuses KFC of Breaching Agreement

Less than 9 hours after the Barbados Workers Union reported an agreement reached with fast food chain KFC over health and safety concerns the two sides were on a collision course again with the union accusing KFC of violating the deal.

Following a 15-hour long, all night meeting it had been agreed that a prohibition notice issued by the Labour Department would keep three KFC outlets closed – Warrens, Hastings and Oistins while work was done to fix several issues.
But BWU General Secretary Toni Moore became incensed when staff were required to report at Warrens while work was to resume at Hastings, in each case without the union being notified.

Miss Moore reiterates that the three locations should remain closed until all health and safety measures are properly addressed.
