Attorney General Dale Marshall denies that Barbadians will have to pay for the first issue of their new ID cards.
He was reacting to a recent statement by President of the Democratic Labour Party, Dr. Ronnie Yearwood, who suggested that any fee for a national ID card would amount to, in his words, a tax to vote.
But in a statement this afternoon, Mr. Marshall rejected the notion.
But he explained that there will be a fee for replacements.
