Two people have perished in a house fire at Heddings Development, St. Philip.

The occupants of the home are said by residents to be a woman in her early 40s and her eight year old daughter.

Residents were alerted to the blaze about 5 am.

The wood and concrete home has been destroyed and an apartment building next door has been slightly damaged.

The bodies were located in the burnt home but are yet to be officially identified.
