The Ministry of Education is promising full transparency on the roll out of the social and emotional learning aspect of its diagnostic assessment.
During a virtual meeting last evening, some parents raised questions about the content of the diagnostic tests against the background of last year’s controversial IDB survey.
The ministry has announced that it will be conducting diagnostic assessments among second, third and fourth form students to address some learning gaps.
The Ministry of Education’s Senior Psychologist, Juanita Brathwaite Wharton, says the tests will mainly address behavioural concerns.
Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer Bradshaw said parents will also be given access to the tests.
