More Than a Hundred Ghanaian Nurses Arrive

A hundred and twenty Ghanaian specialist nurses arrived in Barbados this morning to work at government health institutions.

They were greeted at the Grantley Adams International Airport by the High Commissioner to Ghana and officials from the Ministry of Health and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Sixty-six nurses will be added to the staff at QEH while the remaining 56 will be deployed at the Geriatric Hospital, the Psychiatric Hospital, and at polyclinics on two-year contracts.

Executive Chairman of the QEH Juliette Bynoe Sutherland stressed the importance of the additional nurses.
