Government is making a series of amendments to tighten up this country’s labour laws as the minister responsible lambastes some companies for their treatment of workers.
Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, Colin Jordan, was speaking as he tabled in the House of Assembly the amendments to the Safety and Health at Work Act.
He explained why he felt the need to strengthen the protection for workers.
One of the amendments strengthens the requirement that NIS and tax contributions be paid on behalf of workers.
