President of the Democratic Labour Party Dr. Ronnie Yearwood has heavily criticized government’s pandemic levy and calls for its removal.
Speaking on VOB’s Down to Brasstacks call in programme, he argued that the 1 percent tax places an unfair burden on the middle class.
Dr. Yearwood has urged government to do more to help struggling families. He noted government’s program to assist a thousand families but contends that there are many more that need help.
He also calls on government to extend the basket of vat-free goods and to do more to deal with the rising cost of living.
