NCPTA wants no further delay in return to face to face

Teachers want a two-week delay but many parents are adamant that face to face classes resume as soon as possible and want the ministry of education to stick to its February 21st deadline.

Following a meeting with the Ministry on Tuesday, the Barbados Union of Teachers said it would be seeking a two week postponement to  discuss several major concerns with the education officials.

But General Secretary of the National Council of Parent Teacher Associations, Nicole Brathwaite, tells Starcom Network News most members want no further delay in resuming in person teaching.

School principals say they will continue to work with all stakeholders to agree the best time for face to face classes to resume.

President of the Barbados Association of Principals of Public Secondary Schools, Steven Jackman, says safety is the principals’ main concern and they will do what’s best in the interest of all.
