A case has been filed in the high court of Barbados seeking to delay the general elections.
The announcement was made last night by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley during a Barbados Labour Party political meeting in St. Lucy.

The motion names the President Dame Sandra Mason as the first defendant and the attorney general Dale Marshall as the second defendant.

The case has been filed on behalf of Phillip Nathaniel Catlyn a candidate for the Barbados Sovereignty Party who is contesting the St. Thomas seat.
The motion will be heard at 10 30 am in the Appeals Court before Madam Justice Cicely Chase.

In the document Mr. Catlyn cites as his grounds what he states are the thousands of people in isolation due to the COVID-19 virus and therefore unable to vote.
