Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Senator Lisa Cummings says the Barbados tourism recovery is well underway with average hotel occupancies currently approaching 90 percent and climbing.

And, she confirmed that as previously stated by the BHTA occupancies are highest among the more up-market properties.

Senator Cummings was speaking on the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association program on Voice of Barbados.

The tourism minister noted that the cruise sector is off to a slow restart but expects that to also rebound in a major way next year, with several ships to home port in Barbados.
