Political analysts Dr. Kristina Hinds and Peter Wickham both believe Member of Parliament for St. Philip West, John King’s announcement that he will not contest the next general election is further indication that the election might not be too far off, perhaps in the early part of next year.
Dr. Hinds also says his decision not to run again comes as no surprise.
Dr. Hinds expects general election in the first half of next year.
Political pollster, Peter Wickham, also believes general elections are not too far off, even though he doesn’t agree with such a move.
Mr. Wickhman says his advice would be to go the full term but believes elections might be announced during the upcoming Winter tourist season.
