On what would have been the start of the Crop Over climax weekend, the business sector reports the absence of the festival has been a huge loss.

One company reports losing sixty percent of its business for this time of the year.

Eddie Abed, Managing Director of Abed’s Stores and a former President of the Chamber of Commerce, tells Starcom Network News his outlets would normally be bustling with activity over this weekend.

But, all that business is lost due to the cancellation of Crop Over for a second straight year.

He quantified the loss.
