Barbados has recorded yet another covid death, a 67-year-old Barbadian woman.
The ministry of health says she passed away yesterday at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility.
She was admitted on May 6th, and spent 12 days in isolation – nine of which were on a ventilator.
Her death brings the number of casualties here from the virus to 47.
Meantime, health officials said in a statement that although the positivity rate has been trending downwards, COVID-19 is still very much a threat, especially to certain high risk groups, such as the elderly and those with non-communicable diseases.
The statement urges people to get vaccinated as soon as vaccines become available to protect themselves, their families and communities from the virus.
