A plan to allow cinemas and drive-ins to open on Sundays and Bank Holidays has been cancelled.
This has been disclosed by attorney general Dale Marshall in an interview with Starcom Network News, as covid-19 directives for the next three weeks went into effect from today.
Cinemas are still allowed to operate from Monday to Saturday but Mr. Marshall termed last Saturday’s large gathering of young people outside a cinema as “irresponsible.”
The behavior prompted government to change its mind about extending the days cinemas are allowed to open.
Mr. Marshall also disclosed that he has turned down a request by the Petrol Dealers Association for permission to open their auto marts on Sundays.
