An elderly St. James man has died after falling from the balcony of his home this morning.

The police say they received the report about 8 46 am.

The 70-year-old man resided at 9th Avenue Durants Village.

He was said to be trimming some trees from the upstairs balcony of his house when one of the wooden support railings broke and he fell approximately 14 feet, striking his head in the process and died at the scene.
