UPDATE: Mother and son drown at Welches Beach

Police have identified two people who died in what is a suspected drowning at Welches Beach, Christ Church.

The two deceased are Nioca Howard 27 years of #440 Emerald Park West, Six Roads, St. Phillip and her 5-year-old son Nico Roach.

Police say that around 4:15 PM the Oistins Police station received a report that two persons – an adult female and a young boy had drowned whilst at Welches Beach, Christ Church.

On arrival to the scene, police confirmed the two lifeless bodies on the sand. Further investigations informed that they were both pulled from the sea by two individuals who were walking along the beach.
