The National Union of Public Workers says it wants an urgent meeting with the management of the Sanitation Service Authority.
This, it says is to discuss the dismissal of an employee earlier this year, without observing accepted grievance procedures.
Union officials tell Starcom Network News that the lorry loader reported that he had been on remand.. and that his lawyer had informed his supervisor.
However, the union says when the employee turned up for work, he was verbally dismissed from the job.
The NUPW official adds that they have written letters attempting to have meetings with the SSA, to discuss the matter but the SSA says the matter is with their lawyers.
When contacted, an SSA official promised to provide an update.
