In the face of a public outcry over an increase in land tax on some properties, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has outlined a range of concessions including installment terms for private individuals and a discount for owners of some vacant lots.
Delivering a statement on the matter in the House of Assembly she emphasized that there is no increase in land tax on properties valued less than $ 450,000 which she says presents almost 64 thousand properties out of a total of about 81 thousand island-wide.
But she said that in the interest fairness and shared burden in the implementation of government’s economic recovery program, concessions will be made.
