More than a dozen people were displaced after a fire destroyed two houses and a car and damaged a third house and another vehicle at the Crane, St. Phillip this morning.

While one of the houses is technically classified as extensively damaged by the fire service it was virtually burnt to the ground.  Barbados Fire Service Divisional Officer Mervyn Mayers led the team that responded to the blaze.

Trevor Haynes, the owner of one of the houses described it as a traumatic and heart-breaking experience.
