First Centenarian Knighted
Avisene Carrington, SCM, has been named Dame of St. Andrew for her pioneering role in early childhood education and her outstanding contribution to primary education in Barbados. Ms. Carrington is the first centenarian to be knighted. She celebrated her 100th birthday last September.
