The number of people killed in Dominica, as a result of hurricane Maria stands at seven.
This was confirmed in a statement from Hartley Henry, who is the Adviser to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
It also stated that Mr. Skerrit feared the number will rise, as recovery efforts progress.

According to Mr. Henry, people were walking 10 to 15 miles to the capital to make reports of damage to their properties. He added that urgent helicopter services were needed to take food, water and other essentials to outer districts.
The Prime Minister’s advisor also notes that the main hospital and hurricane shelters are severely damaged.
