More businesses allowed to operate on Sundays

Supermarkets, minimarts, village shops will be allowed to reopen on Sundays starting June 13th.

This was announced by Home Affairs Minister Wilfred Abrahams during this evening’s covid-19 news conference. The new directive goes into effect on June 8th.

With the first cruise ship for the year set to arrive in Barbados on Monday, Minster of Tourism, Senator Lisa Cummins stressed strict protocols will be enforced.

The Minister of Health Lieutenant Colonel Jeffery Bostic said the country continues to do well in reducing the spread of COVID-19.

He however disclosed a new case at a secondary school.
