A 22 year old Christ Church man who was held by police while in possession of an AK 47 assault rifle has been charged for a number of firearm offences, including some last year.
Rommel Allamby of St. Lawrence Main Road is accused of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and assault to prevent lawful apprehension as well as criminal damage to a dwelling house and wounding with intent to maim, disfigure or disable, endangering life.
He is charged that he whilst at Brownes Gap, Sergeants Village, Christ Church on the
12th of May 2021 committed the following offences:
1. Unlawful possession of a firearm
2. Unlawful possession of ammunition.
3. Assault to prevent lawful apprehension.
This charges stem from the discovery of an AK-47 and the subsequent arrest of a male
suspect who had tried to evade the police and was also found to have been in possession
of four rounds of ammunition at that time.
He is also charged that he on the 8th of October 2020 committed the following offences:
4. Endangering the life of Ryan Risbrook
5. Used a Firearm and did not have a valid licence to do so.
6. Committed Criminal Damage to the dwelling house of Harley Leacock.
He is charged that he on the 25th of August 2020 committed the following
offences:
7. Wounded Demarkko Coombs with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do
some serious bodily harm to the said Demarkko Coombs.
8. Wounded Zakwon Jones with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do some
serious bodily harm to the said Zakwon Jones.
9. Endangered the life of Demario Brathwaite.
10. Endangered the life of Renico Phillips.
11. Used a firearm and did not have a valid licence to do so.
Brandon Allamby, who was the subject of a Police Wanted Person’s Bulletin issued on the
29th of October 2020 and again on the 16th of December 2020, appeared on the 20th of
May 2021, at the District ‘A’ Criminal Court Number 2, Before Magistrate Manila Renee.
He pleaded not guilty to the Criminal Damage charge but was not require to plea to the
other matters which were indictable. He was remanded into custody to Her Majesty’s
Prison, Dodds, St Philip and is scheduled to reappear at the said court on the 17th of June
2021.
