Former WI cricketer, coach Ezra Moseley dies in road accident

The local and regional cricketing fraternity is today mourning the passing of Ezra Moseley who was struck by an SUV while out cycling early this morning.

Moseley, who is Barbados’ first road fatality for 2021 is reported to be a fitness enthusiast and was out riding when he was struck around 7:05 am along the Adams section of the ABC Highway at its junction with Providence Road, Christ Church.

Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.

The 63-year-old, who lived at Walrond Village, Christ Church, was a former coach of the Barbados team and the West Indies women’s team. He debuted for Barbados in the 1980s and was also part of the West Indies side from 1990 to 1991. He also played professionally for Eastern Province, Glamorgan, and Northern Transvaal in his cricketing career.

Several members of the local and regional cricketing fraternity have expressed shock and sadness at his passing and have extended condolences to his family.
