Public service vehicle crews caught violating the COVID-19 health protocols will be banned from the road for up to seven days.

This from Head of the Monitoring Unit, Ronald Chapman, who tells Starcom Network News that they have stepped up enforcement of the protocols such as mask wearing.

He says the PSV sector is still the least compliant with the covid-19 protocols.

Mr. Chapman says the covid-19 monitoring unit officers,  having done a good job in the tourism sector, will now turn their attention to the transport industry.

President of the Association of Public Transport Operators, Kenneth Best appeals to members to follow the guidelines set out by health officials.

Marketing and Communications Officer with the Alliance Owners of Public Transport, Mark Haynes says they are fully supportive of the Covid-19 Unit, once it does its work fairly.
