Managing Director of Carlton and A1 Supermarkets, Andrew Bynoe says his supermarket chain is limiting the number of shoppers in its stores to 90 in an effort to manage social distancing.
This after a number of employees at its Emerald City branch in Six roads, staged a work stoppage over an apparent fear of contracting COVID-19.
But Mr. Bynoe says the action of staff was premature as measures had been put in place to ensure the safety of the employees.
He says the employees did not understand the protocols for supermarkets.
