Rains hit northern farms

A heat wave this year followed by torrential rains have hurt food crop production.

Senior Agricultural Assistant at the Ministry of Agriculture, Bernard Thompson, says unpredictable weather is creating challenges for farmers

He tells Starcom Network News that recent thunderstorms, especially in the north of Barbados, could result in a shortage of some produce.

His comments came this morning on the sidelines of a donation of ultra-bee high protein pollen from overseas company Mannlake Bee and Agricultural Supplies.
