Government has confirmed a data breach at the Barbados Revenue Authority but says it’s limited to the vehicle registration system.
Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology, Marsha Caddle, says steps are being taken to ensure there is no further breach of the BRA’s systems.
Meantime, the BRA has taken its vehicle registration portal offline in response to the alleged hack as it notes that some vehicle registration application information is being circulated online.
The BRA’S Communications Manager Carolyn Williams-Gayle says the BRA, along with the police and other agencies, are investigating the alleged data breach.
