A St. Philip man has been charged for the murder of his wife, who was a prison officer.
Seventy four year old Whitfield Thomas of Emerald Park West is due to appear at the District C Court this morning to answer to the charge of murder of his wife 52 year old Daphne Thomas, an officer at Dodds Prison.
The police received a report at about 4:55 am on Friday September 20th that there had been a domestic dispute between a man and a woman at their residence at Emerald Park, St. Philip and that a female was believed to be dead at the scene.
Police responded and on arrival found the body of the deceased.
The accused, a night watchman, had reportedly attempted to take his life after the incident and had been hospitalized under Police guard.
