Government is developing new criminal procedure rules to speed up the trial process in the criminal courts.
This has been disclosed by Attorney General, Dale Marshall, during the opening here in Barbados of in-country sensitization meetings of the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit of the CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security.
Mr. Marshall voiced specific concern about the length of time it takes to process firearm related cases.
He said a meeting will be held with all stakeholders early next month to discuss the new procedures.
