A CIBC automated teller machine (ATM) located at a Tudor Bridge, St. Michael retail complex has been smashed by bandits in what Starcom Network News understands was an unsuccessful attempt to burglarize the device and steal its cash.
The theft attempt has been confirmed by CIBC Caribbean which says in a statement that there was an attempted breach of one of their remote ATM machines on Sunday July 21st.
The statement adds that the matter has been reported to the Barbados Police Service and is currently being investigated and that the bank can offer no further comment on the matter at this stage.
Starcom Network News understands that the ATM was located at the People’s Market complex at Tudor Bridge, St. Michael and that the bandits failed to get any cash.
