“Alf” back home/incident blown out of proportion, says passenger

Well-known Barbadian Carl “Alf” Padmore is back home following his ordeal over the weekend where he was ordered off an Air Canada flight at Toronto International Airport.

During the incident that was captured in a viral video, Mr. Padmore, the Public Relations Officer at the Barbados Sanitation Service Authority, loudly protested his being ordered to leave the plane.

He said he was put off the aircraft after complaining about the lack of food and water for passengers who had endured a lengthy flight delay.

Mr. Padmore tells Starcom Network News the matter is under investigation and therefore he cannot make a comment.

However, he thanked Barbados government officials for their help in the matter.

Meantime, a Barbadian passenger on the flight contacted Starcom Network News to say that the plane was on the ground for two and a half hours, that they thought the crew was very helpful and that due to the delay the passengers were given meal vouchers before they boarded plane, were given water while onboard the aircraft and after the flight was cancelled they were provided with hotel accommodation for the night as well as additional meal vouchers.

They believe that in the circumstances the whole affair was blown out of proportion.
