Boy rescued from well in St. Philip

The Barbados Fire Service has rescued a ten year old boy from a 30-foot septic well at Union, St. Philip and again appealed to property owners to ensure wells are properly covered.

Acting Chief Fire Officer, Henderson Patrick, tells Starcom Network News they received the call just before eleven o’clock Saturday morning.

The boy appeared to suffer no major injuries but was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Mr. Patrick is concerned about the number of wells that aren’t properly sealed and urges property owners to secure wells to prevent incidents that could result in serious injury or even death.
