Two men have been taken to hospital after being shot and critically injured at Martin’s Road, the Pine, St. Michael.
Residents reported hearing a barrage of gunfire.
This is the third shooting in the area recently with a young man having been shot dead in a previous incident.
Member of Parliament for the area, the Deputy Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw, was at the scene and told Starcom Network News she is very concerned about the gun violence in the area.
Ms. Bradshaw notes this is just the latest in a recent surge in gun violence in the Pine and says it requires an urgent response.
She insists a strong message must be sent that such violence will not be tolerated.
