Andrea Franklyn has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer of Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporated.
The announcement was made at a news conference this afternoon.
She succeeds Dr. Jens Thraenhart whose contract ended on July 14th last year.
Ms. Franklin was previously the Manager of Chukka Barbados, formerly known as Caves of Barbados.
She is qualified in Tourism Management and Project Management and has worked with the Barbados Tourism Authority.
Miss Franklyn is described as having vast experience in areas within tourism, having also worked with an airline, a hotel, villa rentals and attractions
A BTMI release states that In addition to her twenty years of experience in tourism and related areas, Ms. Franklin holds an MBA from the University of Leicester, a Master’s degree in Project Management and Evaluation, and a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management from the University of the West Indies.
Meantime, Cheryl Carter, Director of BTMI, UK is to return to Barbados on promotion to support the new CEO in the post of Chief Operations Officer (COO).
Both appointments are effective April 1st.
