Swan Vendor Charged for Drugs/ Assaulting WPC

A Swan Street vendor has been charged for drug trafficking and assaulting a female police officer and has been banned from Swan Street for the time being.

Police at the Central Police Station arrested 41-year-old Jason Trotman of Fordes Road, Brittons Hill, St. Michael for possession, trafficking and possession with intent to supply marijuana as well as assault occasioning actual bodily harm of Police Constable Kiana Brito on January 5th at Swan Street in Bridgetown.

Trotman appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court last Friday 6th January where he pleaded guilty to the drug charges.

He was placed on a bond for six months to keep the peace and if breached, he is required to pay 750 dollars forthwith or thirty days in prison.

Trotman is scheduled to reappear on January 18th on the charge of assaulting the female police officer and was also instructed not to go into Swan Street until the conclusion of these court matters.
