Agriculture Minister, Indar Weir, says he’s been given an assurance by poultry producers and supermarket operators that there will no shortage of chicken on the shelves this Christmas, despite some supply challenges in recent months.

Mr. Weir also tells Starcom Network News that the six shipping containers of eggs imported by the Egg and Poultry Producers Association of the Barbados Agricultural Society should ensure an ample supply of that commodity.

Mr. Weir was briefing Starcom Network News on the outcome of a meeting last Friday with key players in poultry production and retail.

Mr. Weir explained the challenge that arose with the supply of eggs.
