A pedestrian has been critically injured after being hit by a truck that then crashed into a house at My Lord’s Hill, St. Michael this morning.

Residents tell Starcom Network News the young man was walking the street when the white, opened-back truck ran over him and then crashed into the side of the house.

The home was extensively damaged.

The driver appeared to suffer no significant injury but the young man who was struck was taken away by ambulance in very serious condition.

Tensions ran high at the scene as friends and relatives of the injured man gathered at the location and were visibly upset about what had transpired.

Some residents told Starcom Network News what they saw.

73- year-old Michael Daniel who is the sole occupant of the house which the truck ran into recounted the ordeal.

Mr. Daniel says he does not know what his next steps are as the house is not insured.

He currently uses a walker to get around and was in the process of renovating the house.
