The Minister of the Environment, Adrian Forde, gives the assurance that steps have been taken to clean up the tendering process at the National Conservation Commission following issues highlighted in the Auditor General’s report.
He also insists the true contract figure involved was less than a third of that stated in the report – about 431 thousand dollars rather than 1.5 million.
Mr. Forde held a news briefing at his office this morning to provide an update on the matter.
He outlined the measures implemented.
Mr. Forde also again insisted the individual awarded the contract was not an NCC employee but had been contracted to provide services.
