The National Union of Public Workers, NUPW, believes there has been inadequate consultation with the union on the Barbados government’s plans to reform several state agencies.
The NUPW’s acting General Secretary, Wayne Waldrond, tells Starcom Network News that government seems to be pressing ahead with its privatisation plans and the union urgently needs to hear what’s intended.
Mr. Waldrond argues that the political interference is the biggest problem at state agencies and he isn’t convinced privatisation is the solution.
