Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has announced plans for establishment of what she calls a legacy fund using a range of currently unrecorded government assets.
She says the assets can then be monetized or used as security.
Miss Mottley was speaking during a ceremony at which the old Mutual Building at Lower Broad Street was renamed as the Dodridge Miller Economic Justice Building.
Mr. Miller is the former President and CEO of Sagicor Financial Corporation.
According to Prime Minister Mottley, creation of the legacy fund is about government having all of its assets available to it as it battles various challenges.
Work on the fund will be undertaken over the coming months.
