Body of Missing Man Retrieved From Deep Well

A missing man has been confirmed to have fallen to his death in an almost 300 feet deep well at Thorpes, St. James.

The deceased has been identified as 63 year old Goldwyn Scott of Quarry Road, Arthur Seat, St. Thomas, who was last seen on Thursday when he left home for one of his regular  walks.

Fire Officials tell Starcom Network News the search began when video footage from a surveillance camera showed the man entering a bushy area at the entrance of the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology but not re-emerging.

Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police Frederick Catwell briefed journalists at the scene.

Mr. Scott had retired about a year ago from Republic Bank where he was clerical officer and staff member of some thirty years.

Morris Springer a former co-worker close friend of the deceased spoke of the search for Mr. Scott.
